Performance

Four measures have been included in the graph below to show Burnie's relative performance compared with the State Average for all Councils and the worst performance recorded for each measure.

Quality

Outcome of Water Quality Tests measures the percentage of tests made that met environmental standards. Burnie scored 100% meaning all tests met the standards.

Reliability

Number of Breaks in Reticulation Systems per 100 km provides an indication of the condition and reliability of the systems. Burnie score is extremely low indicating the excellent condition of the Burnie water system.

Availability

Number of Days of Water Restrictions provides an indication of the capacity of the system to meet the community's needs. Burnie has never imposed water restrictions since the commissioning of its current water system, while in the worst case one council imposed restrictions for all 365 days of the year.

Affordability

Unit Cost per Kilolitre measures the cost to Council of providing water to the community. Burnie's cost at 84 cents is 13% lower than the state average and a massive 55% lower than the worst case.
